If you know Sakis, you know she’s the gentlest, sweetest soul, she is barely three years old, and we joke she’s the world’s smallest Maine Coon.
This past Sunday, our worst nightmare happened. Saki had a 7-story fall from our apartment window. By some miracle she survived and two days and surgery later, we are so, so grateful to have her home with us.
She’s recovering now. Emergency ICU care, orthopedic surgery to repair a severe fracture, and weeks of healing still ahead. The massive emergency vet bills set us back a lot and it’s been a lot to carry, and every bit of support means the world to us.
Through 1.9.2026, all profits after-tax from every purchase in this shop (excluding originals) goes straight toward Sakis’ recovery.

Sakis update diary:
[23.7.2026]
Sakis meows in the middle of the night as if she wants to go out and roam. It feels bad to restrict her movement with a cage but necessary for healing. It’s good however that she has the urge to explore. Everything seems to be going well and is on the right track. Lately she got her cast replaced to a new one and in a couple weeks she is due for an xray.

She’s having a difficult time pooping. Apparently it’s like that after surgery and all the meds she was on. We bought a paste that helps digestion. Otherwise she’s more and more like herself again. Mobility is still compromised, however. She gets up and sit for a few seconds at the time but she is mostly just laying down.

Sakis only now showed interest in food. Her apetite seems to be coming back slowly. She spent most of the day laying on her side. She was also able to lift herself from her back legs, albeit very briefly.

Day after surgery. No apetite. Despite her being reccomended to eat. We were instructed to remove the fentanyl patch so she can regain her apetite.

We took Sakis back home in the evening from surgery. Her back legs were completely relaxed and she was unable to use them. We were advised to get a dog esteict her movement. To help aid her recovery she shouldn’t be walking around or jumping for the next two weeks.
